When noise in the bedroom is not so hot.

There is a problem out there that threatens the livelihood of relationships everywhere.  It takes over an individual and turns them into a torment to their loved one, tarnishing their love life and threatening their relationship as a whole. This common phenomenon happens in the dark of night and often comes without warning, when you just start to fall asleep.  Now, what is this threatening disaster???! Yep, you guessed it…. The SNORING PARTNER!!!! Dun, dun, dun…. *cue Psycho themed music*

Although we know you love your significant other, we also understand that the consistent noise and frequent lapses in their breathing is annoying and stressful. As if worrying about your partner’s potential health risks wasn’t bad enough, you yourself is at great risk for developing health problems including insomnia, irritability, and even weight gain.

A study conducted in 1999 by the Mayo Clinic determined that partners sharing a bed with a chronic snoring individual wake up an average of 21 times an hour!! That is a lot!!! The snorers themselves wake up about 28 times an hour leaving the partner to basically endure and almost as restless night. When this happens night after night, the affects take their toll and both individuals suffer the consequences.

Snoring is so NOT romantic, so lucky for you, we have some tips and products to control your partner’s snoring and keep the noise in the bedroom for Valentine’s Day. ; )

Tip # 1 What’s up Doc??
Now the number one thing to do when snoring gets out of control is to see your doctor. The snoring may be caused by sleep apnea which is a serious condition that basically inhibits breathing during sleep, causing the affected to wake up to catch their breath, making the snoring sound. It is treatable, but vital that it is caught. Therefore, if your partner does have a big problem snoring, especially if they are overweight, see a doctor ASAP.

Tip #2 ZQuiet, a.k.a your lifesaver
If your snoring significant other does not have sleep apnea and is just a nosy sleeper, there is a product you can try. Now there are SO MANY products out there that claim to stop snoring. There are creams, nose strips, mouthpieces, and they all claim to work great. Chances are however, if you have ever taken some of these products home, the results are less than impressive. We wanted to bring you only the best so after reviewing many different kinds of remedies, the best and most effective anti-snoring devise on the market that we found is a mouthpiece called ZQuiet. Basically this comfortable mouthpiece is worn nightly and corrects the jaw position to allow a clearer and direct airway. The snoring is eliminated! That means no more sleeping in separate beds and waking up irritated and groggy. A link to ZQuiet is available below.

Tip # 3 What?? I can’t hear you!!!
If the mouthpiece doesn’t suit your bed partner’s fancy, there is something you yourself can try. It is not as recommended as the mouthpiece but it will get the job done. It sounds simple, but earplugs are being used quite often in relationships where one of the individuals snores. The soft pliable foam ones are recommended because they will cause the least discomfort. However, this should be a last resort because no one should have to wear earplugs just to get a good night’s sleep.

Please don’t resort to fleeing to another room to escape the monstrous noises coming from your partner!! There IS a way to maintain it. Whether you use ear plugs, ZQuiet, or get help from your Doc, it is important to get the assistance needed and to not let your relationship suffer. We hope you all have a great Valentine’s Day. Stay safe and happy snoozing!

Peace, love and a good nights sleep!!!
